Music Lafayette and Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center (SWLAHEC), along with community partners, are bringing together musicians, artists, creatives, and healthcare professionals for an event focused on improving health and wellness in our creative community. The event will connect attendees with valuable resources, education, screenings, and healthcare services, with an emphasis on expanding access to care for underserved creative communities.

You DO NOT need to sign-up beforehand to participate. Information will be used to gauge interest and prepare, but walk-ins are welcome.

Health Insurance & Resources

Experts from SWLAHEC will be on-site to help musicians, artists, and creatives navigate enrollment in Medicaid, LaCHIP, the Health Insurance Marketplace, Medicare, and other assistance programs.

Health Screenings & Consultations

Healthcare professionals from Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center will provide health screenings, answer questions, discuss health concerns, and offer guidance on treatment options. A dental professional will be available to provide screenings and discuss treatment options.

MusiCares Support

A Music Lafayette representative will be on hand to share information about MusiCares, a leading provider of financial assistance and support services for music professionals. MusiCares offers resources for basic living needs, healthcare, mental health, addiction recovery, and disaster relief to those working in the music industry.
